Neuroscientists are all over the topic: why do you get bored of your favorite songs? One minute a song is catchy as hell and all you can listen to for days on end, then suddenly it stops sounding quite so good. The two key factors are overexposure to the song, and the more important one is how complex a song is. The more there is going on in a song the more likely it is to fire off the right signals in our brains. More complex the stimuli, the more likely a person will like it with time.

Among all Dalmata releases, Új Bála is still on our playlist up to this day, and the reason is, that there is so much going on in these songs with so many layers, playfulness, and complexity. The sometimes weird sounds are also taking deeper and more concentrated attention from the listener.

Új Bála, the experimental, d.i.y. lo-fi noise-techno musician, who is also a visual artist, has been on the radar of many musical magazines, and labels, with releases on Baba Vanga, Altered State Tapes, Lost Dogs Entertainment, Czaszka Records.

Kerti Parti EP is the third digital release of Dalmata Daniel, Új Bála has been a member of the Dalmata family since his split release with Betonkust (DDS01). His sound is still sometimes dark and experimental, but his new works are a bit more club – or at least garden party-vibe – oriented.

All in all, this is a release that you can enjoy, dance to, and listen to again and again, because it always gives you something new to think about.
